Job Title: Technical Sales & Field Service Specialist

Location: Based in Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada, covering pan-Canadian market

Position Overview

Santai Science is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled professional to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines technical sales, customer support, and field service responsibilities for chromatography instruments and consumables.

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing customer relationships, supporting users of Santai systems, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the entire customer lifecycle. This includes supporting existing customers, generating new sales opportunities, providing technical guidance, and assisting with installation, training, and service of chromatography systems. 

 

This position is ideal for a scientifically trained professional who enjoys interacting with customers, solving technical problems, and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

 

  • Manage the complete sales cycle within the assigned territory and product portfolio.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Promote Santai chromatography instruments, consumables, and related solutions.
  • Prepare quotations and support negotiations within authorized pricing guidelines.
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities including columns, cartridges, bulk media, and related products.
  • Represent Santai Science at trade shows, conferences, and customer visits.

 

Technical Support & Customer Training

 

  • Provide technical and application support to customers using Santai instruments and consumables.
  • Answer technical questions and provide guidance on method development and purification workflows.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and customer training sessions.
  • Support customers in optimizing their use of Santai chromatography systems.
  • Ensure customers achieve the best performance and value from Santai products.

 

Field Service & Technical Assistance

 

  • Assist with installation and commissioning of Santai instruments.
  • Provide basic field service support and troubleshooting for chromatography systems.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams when advanced service support is required.
  • Support preventive maintenance and basic servicing activities when needed.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer technical issues.

 

CRM & Reporting

 

  • Maintain accurate records of customers, activities, and sales opportunities within the CRM system.
  • Provide territory updates and weekly sales activity reports.
  • Submit regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates.
  • Track customer feedback and technical issues to support continuous improvement.

 

Continuous Improvement & Market Intelligence

 

  • Stay up to date with Santai product developments and chromatography technologies.
  • Monitor customer needs, market trends, and competitive activities.
  • Provide feedback to management and internal teams to improve products, services, and customer experience.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What we are Looking For:

Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field with relevant chromatography instrumentation experience.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience working with chromatography instruments.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role such as technical sales or field service is considered an asset.
  • Relevant knowledge of flash & HPLC chromatography products is required. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, self-motivated, and well-organized.
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proficient computer skills including PowerPoint, Outlook, ERP and CRM systems.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support customers.

Work Environment

  • Field-based position with on-site visits to customer locations, providing face-to-face interaction with clients and prospects.
